Krikor Jabotian created "AhkTamar", an impressive couture collection for Spring/Summer 2014. It was inspired by an Armenian folklore story that tells a tale about true romance between Princess Tamar and a peasant boy, who drowned with heartbreak in Lake Van after her father discovered and forbade the affair.
The gowns are as dramatic and soulful as the story, with unexpected volumes and beautiful textures in royal red and champagne. Translucent layers of tulle are covered with intricate embroideries and gold sequins, while structured silhouettes come with long, exaggerated a-line skirts. A majestic collection of gowns fit for a princess.
